In his first photobook Castle, Thai Tuan documents and questions the changes happening to his neighborhood in Chi Linh, Ba Ria Vung Tau. Rubbles, dunes of sand, and opulent castles take over a familiar landscape. Symbols of struggle, (mis)fortune, and faith expand the portrait of development.
The book’s images, in fact, had been taken across various urban areas in the surrounding region. This story is thus not specific, but a common reflection on the current state of our growth.
